American Painted Lady
"Vanessa virginiensis lives in flowery habitats, usually in mountains. All stages of the life cycle can be found throughout temperate North America as well as Madeira and the Canary Islands. Occasionally individuals can be found as far as southwest Europe."
I find about three American Painted Ladies each year. Generally, they are tattered by time I find them, but these are pristine. They are very unlike any other butterflies I find as far as their pattern and the variety of colors. The are delicate measuring just less than an 1" and are on sterling silver ear hooks. This is the only pair available as I did not find any more this year.
